About RAB

Principal Consultant Rob Brown is a qualified Financial and Management Accountant with over 30 years’ experience in the domestic and international freight and logistics industry in Australia, USA and the UK .
 
Prior industry experience included financial accounting and analysis, operational performance, business governance, security, risk management and Executive Management roles in large corporate organisations such as TNT, Ansett Australia, Qantas Freight and Australian air Express.

Since 2012 Robert has been a Board Director and Company Secretary of the Sylvanvale Disability Foundation where strategy, corporate governance, financial analysis, risk management and a focus on service delivery have been the cornerstone of his contribution at this Not for Profit organisation. 

In 2020, Robert was invited to be a Board Director and Chairperson with the Finding Yellow Disability Foundation to assist with their ongoing governance and compliance under their transformational NDIS rollout and growth strategy.

Robert is an active member of the AICD (Australian Institute of Company Directors),  FTA (Freight Trade Alliance), IFCBAA (International Freight & Customs Brokers Association of Australia) and Associate Consultant with SASI  Consulting (Strategic Aviation Solutions International).

Financial Analysis

TRANSPORT FOR NSW
Provided a sea freight EX Works cost analysis model of the major countries and overseas port locations trading to/from with NSW city and regional locations for 20 and 40 foot seafreight containers, covering all relevant transport modes (ie sea, rail, road) and port terminal changes.

WH&S / Chain of Responsibility

HELLMAN WORLDWIDE LOGISTICS

Accessed the quality and compliance of the national and local WH&S documentation available to Hellmann directors, branch managers, departmental managers and operational employees in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne. Reviewed the operational warehouse facilities against government legislation within the operational framework of the international freight, perishable and contract logistics business and provided recommendations for improvements based on a recognised risk matrix and suggested timeframes.

DP WORLD

Provided international freight forwarding strategic advice to the DPW Executive management team as they explored growth opportunities to provide a greater range of services within the logistics chain for the beneficial cargo owner.

Operational Warehouse Management

CT FREIGHT

Initially reviewed their existing warehouse operations throughout Australia in terms of their compliance, efficiency, client impact and manpower and then developed initiatives for improvement and worked with the management team and front line employees to implement the agreed changes.

Corporate Governance

A START IN LIFE

Reviewed the hardware and software support agreements with their existing service provider to ensure clarity for ASIL management and employees regarding hardware equipment, software licenses, support arrangements, performance reports, review meetings and costs (current & future).

Human Resources

AIR CARGO PARTNERS

Developed HR processes to ensure new employee on boarding or termination processes are compliant, efficient and cost effective including ongoing HR business support for the management team across Australia.

Security

MINITUBE AUSTRALIA

To assist with an efficient and effective application process for the Australian Government Known Consignor Security Scheme whilst ensuring international best practice operational / security requirements are being undertaken and that these practices can be demonstrated to the authorization/inspection staff from the Department of Home Affairs within the Australian Government.
